SMANN is Transforming Local Commerce by Empowering Businesses Across Maharashtra

0

Navi Mumbai, India – July 2026 – As India’s digital economy continues to evolve, local businesses are increasingly looking for technology platforms that help them compete with larger brands without compromising their identity. SMANN is emerging as one of Maharashtra’s fastest-growing local commerce platforms by connecting neighborhood businesses with customers through technology-driven food discovery and logistics solutions.

Founded with a mission to empower local entrepreneurs, SMANN was created to solve one of the biggest challenges faced by small businesses—access to affordable digital infrastructure and reliable delivery services. Beginning its journey in Pune, the company has expanded its presence to Mumbai and Kolhapur while supporting more than 500 businesses and facilitating over one lakh deliveries across its network.

Unlike conventional marketplaces, SMANN focuses on strengthening local ecosystems by helping independent restaurants, cloud kitchens, bakeries, home chefs, grocery stores, and other neighborhood businesses reach customers through an integrated technology platform. The company’s approach combines digital ordering, logistics support, and operational simplicity to help merchants grow sustainably.

SMANN currently offers two core services:

SMANN Foods, a hyperlocal food discovery and delivery platform featuring verified local brands.
SMANN Parcel, providing logistics infrastructure and delivery support for businesses requiring dependable last-mile services.

The platform is built around a “Local First” philosophy, ensuring that independent businesses receive access to technology and delivery capabilities traditionally available only to larger enterprises. By simplifying operations and enabling digital growth, SMANN helps businesses focus on what they do best—serving their customers.

Looking ahead, the company plans to continue expanding across Maharashtra while strengthening its technology ecosystem for merchants and delivery partners. With its growing network and commitment to supporting local entrepreneurship, SMANN aims to become the preferred operating platform for local businesses seeking scalable growth in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Dream Homes, Not Luxury Price Tags: How GoMend Is Making Beautiful Interiors Affordable for Every Indian

0

NEW DELHI: For decades, interior design has been perceived as a luxury reserved for the wealthy. Beautiful homes featured in magazines and social media often came with equally intimidating price tags, leaving millions of homeowners believing that creating their dream home was simply beyond their reach.
A new homegrown brand is determined to change that.
GoMend has entered the Indian interiors market with a simple yet powerful belief—that every family deserves to live in a home they love, regardless of their budget.
The Man Behind Affordable Interiors
Founded by civil engineer Shah Arafat Khan, GoMend was born from a vision much bigger than building beautiful spaces. It was created to make professional interior design and renovation affordable, transparent and accessible to ordinary Indian families.
After spending over fifteen years delivering residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across India, Shah Arafat realised that the biggest obstacle preventing people from renovating their homes wasn’t aspiration—it was affordability.
“Almost everyone dreams of a beautiful home,” says Khan. “The tragedy is that many people never pursue that dream because they believe interiors are only for the rich. We wanted to change that.”
That belief became the foundation of GoMend.
Unlike conventional interior companies that often involve multiple intermediaries and escalating costs, GoMend (www.gomend.in) follows an engineering-first approach, focusing on efficient planning, smart execution and cost optimisation. The result is premium-quality interiors at prices that are dramatically more affordable than the market norm.
Its most talked-about offering has already captured attention—professional interior solutions starting from just ₹4,999, making home transformations accessible to thousands of families who had previously considered them out of reach.
Whether it is a compact apartment, an independent house, a retail outlet or an office, GoMend believes every space deserves thoughtful design without forcing customers to compromise on quality or exceed their budgets.
The philosophy behind the brand is deeply personal.
Having experienced financial hardships during his own journey, Shah Arafat believes success carries a responsibility to give back to society. For him, GoMend is more than a business—it is a mission to bring happiness into people’s lives by helping them transform the place where they create memories every day: their home.
“A house is made of bricks and concrete,” he says. “A home is built with dreams, emotions and memories. If we can help families achieve that dream at a price they can genuinely afford, we’ve achieved something far greater than completing another project.”
The company combines over fifteen years of engineering expertise with a customer-first approach, offering complete renovation and interior solutions while maintaining transparency in pricing, quality of materials and project execution.
Already expanding rapidly across Delhi NCR and Kolkata, GoMend is preparing for an ambitious nationwide rollout, with plans to make affordable, professionally executed interiors available across India.
At a time when homeowners are demanding greater value, transparency and trust, GoMend is positioning itself as more than an interiors company.
It is leading a movement to prove that beautiful homes should never be a privilege reserved for a few—they should be within reach of every Indian family.
For Shah Arafat Khan, that has always been the dream.
Now, through GoMend, he intends to make it everyone else’s reality.

Meet The Founders Behind Slazzy: Building India’s Hyperlocal Fashion Commerce Network

0

Who are the founders of Slazzy?
Slazzy was founded by Shubham Gopal and Mansi Bajpai, two professionals with the experience in technology, e-commerce, operations, and scaling businesses.

Shubham Gopal – Founder & CEO

Shubham has over 7 years of experience in software development and e-commerce technology. Before starting Slazzy, he worked as a Senior Technical Consultant at EY (Ernst & Young).

During his career, he worked with multiple e-commerce brands and digital businesses, helping them build and scale technology solutions.

While working with these brands, he repeatedly noticed a common problem: customers often needed clothing urgently but had no reliable way to get fashion delivered quickly. At the same time, local fashion retailers had inventory sitting in their stores but lacked digital reach.

This observation eventually became the foundation of Slazzy.

Mansi Bajpai – Co-Founder & Head of Operations & Growth

Mansi brings over 6 years of experience in operations, growth, merchant management, and city-level execution.

Before Slazzy, she worked with companies such as Zomato, OYO, and Paytm.

At OYO, she was responsible for revenue growth and handled large-scale operational responsibilities. She gained hands-on experience managing teams, working with partners, scaling operations, and launching growth initiatives.

Her understanding of hyperlocal operations and merchant ecosystems became a key strength in building Slazzy’s operational model.

How did the idea for Slazzy start?

The idea came from a simple real-world problem.

Many people have experienced situations like:

  • An unexpected party invitation.
  • A job interview the next day.
  • A wedding function in a few hours.
  • A college event.
  • A date night.
  • An important office meeting.

In these situations, people often realize they need clothing urgently.

The problem is that traditional fashion e-commerce platforms usually take several days to deliver.

As consumers, we can order food in minutes and groceries within hours, but fashion remains one of the slowest categories in e-commerce.

We felt that this experience needed to change.

What problem is Slazzy solving?

Slazzy solves three major problems.

1. Customers need fashion instantly.

Fashion is often linked to specific events and occasions.

Customers don’t always shop weeks in advance.

Many purchases are urgent.

Current e-commerce platforms are not designed for these situations.

2. Local fashion stores struggle to compete online.

Thousands of local retailers have great products but limited digital visibility.

Most customers don’t know what inventory is available in nearby stores.

3. Fashion inventory remains underutilized.

Retail stores already have products, sizes, and styles available.

The challenge is connecting nearby demand with nearby supply.

Why didn’t you choose the dark store model?

This is one of the most common questions we receive.

The simple answer is that fashion is very different from groceries.

A dark store works well when products are limited and predictable.

Fashion is different because:

  • Every product has multiple sizes.
  • Every product has multiple colors.
  • Trends change frequently.
  • Inventory changes daily.
  • Customers expect variety.

To build a dark store for fashion, we would need to purchase and maintain a massive inventory.

That would require significant capital and create inventory risk.

Instead of creating new inventory, we decided to utilize inventory that already exists.

Why did you choose a hyperlocal model?

Because the inventory is already available.

Every city has hundreds of fashion stores.

Every store has products sitting on shelves waiting for customers.

Our question was:

Why build warehouses when the products already exist nearby?

The hyperlocal model allows us to:

  • Offer more variety.
  • Reduce inventory risk.
  • Scale faster.
  • Support local retailers.
  • Improve unit economics.

Rather than competing with local stores, we empower them.

How does Slazzy work?

The process is simple.

  • Customers browse products through Slazzy.
  • Nearby partner stores receive the order.
  • The best available inventory is selected.
  • Delivery partners pick up the product.
  • Customers receive their order in approximately 60 minutes.

This creates value for everyone.

Customers receive products faster.

Retailers increase sales.

Cities become digitally connected.

What makes Slazzy different?

Most fashion marketplaces focus on warehouses and national inventory.

Slazzy focuses on local inventory.

Most platforms deliver in days.

Slazzy delivers in minutes.

Most platforms compete with retailers.

Slazzy partners with retailers.

Most platforms require significant inventory investment.

Slazzy operates an asset-light model.

Why do you believe this model will work?

Consumer behavior is changing rapidly.

People increasingly expect instant convenience.

Food delivery transformed restaurants.

Quick commerce transformed groceries.

We believe fashion is the next major category to evolve.

The infrastructure already exists:

  • Retail stores exist.
  • Inventory exists.
  • Delivery networks exist.

The missing layer is technology.

That is what Slazzy is building.

What is the long-term vision?

Our vision is to become India’s largest hyperlocal fashion commerce network.

We started in Lucknow.

We are preparing for expansion into Delhi NCR.

In the future, we aim to connect thousands of fashion retailers and millions of consumers across India.

We believe the future of fashion commerce is local, fast, and technology-driven.

And we want Slazzy to lead that transformation.

Why did you choose Lucknow as your first city?

Many startups immediately launch in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, or Delhi.

We deliberately chose Lucknow.

Lucknow provides the ideal environment to test and validate a hyperlocal fashion commerce model.

Compared to larger metropolitan cities, Lucknow has:

  • Lower traffic congestion
  • Faster delivery movement
  • Lower operational costs
  • Easier retailer onboarding
  • Better control over customer experience
  • A growing population of digitally active consumers

For us, Lucknow was not a smaller market.

It was a smarter starting point.

Launching in Lucknow allowed us to test customer behavior, optimize operations, understand retailer challenges, and refine our technology before expanding into larger and more complex markets.

Instead of burning capital in a large city, we focused on building a repeatable and scalable model first.

Sanskriti Youth Foundation Installs “Arpan Kalash” at Hathighat; Removes 560 kg Plastic Waste from Yamuna Riverfront

0

Agra, June 14: In a significant step towards protecting the Yamuna River from religious and plastic pollution, Sanskriti Youth Foundation, in collaboration with Agra Nagar Nigam, installed an “Arpan Kalash” at Hathighat, Agra on Sunday morning.

The Arpan Kalash has been established to encourage devotees to respectfully deposit floral offerings, worship materials, and idol remnants after rituals instead of discarding them into the river. The collected materials will be transported to the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) of Agra Nagar Nigam, where they will be scientifically processed and recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.

The initiative was graced by the presence of social worker Shri Santosh Khirwar, BJP District Minister Shri Satish Dev Tyagi, Shri Suresh Saxena, District Coordinator of All World Gayatri Pariwar, Shri Gopal Kushwaha, District Coordinator of Gayatri Pariwar Youth Wing, and social worker Dr. Anand Prakash Tyagi.

Representing Sanskriti Youth Foundation were Vice President Deepak Tyagi, Media Head Vaishali Sharma, Secretary Mansi Verma, PR Head Shantanu Budhraja, along with Sachin Tyagi, Sujata, Varnika, Kushagra, Ankit Tyagi, Manish Dubey, Swaym, Naveen, Prachi, Vaishali, Abhirav, and over 120 volunteers.

Following the installation ceremony, volunteers conducted a large-scale cleanup drive along the Yamuna riverbank and successfully removed approximately 560 kilograms of plastic and mixed waste. The collected waste was sent to the Agra Nagar Nigam Material Recovery Facility for recycling.

Speakers highlighted the importance of the Arpan Kalash as a sustainable solution that balances religious sentiments with environmental responsibility. The initiative aims to reduce river pollution while promoting responsible disposal and recycling of religious waste.

Sanskriti Youth Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such environmental initiatives and mobilizing citizens to work collectively towards a cleaner, healthier, and pollution-free Yamuna.

Founded in 2021, Sanskriti Youth Foundation is a youth-led nonprofit organization working in the fields of environmental conservation, education, and women empowerment. The organization currently operates across 24 cities in India with a network of more than 7,500 volunteers dedicated to creating sustainable social impact.

Through community-driven initiatives focused on river conservation, waste management, afforestation, education, and social development, the Foundation has emerged as one of the fastest-growing youth movements in the country. To date, its volunteers have removed and diverted more than 120,000 kilograms of plastic and waste from the environment for responsible recycling and have planted and nurtured over 10,000 trees.

Initiatives such as the Arpan Kalash project reflect the Foundation’s commitment to combining environmental responsibility with cultural and religious values, encouraging citizens to actively participate in building a cleaner and more sustainable future.
