Arshdeep Singh Aulakh’s Journey
Arshdeep’s cricketing journey began in the gullies of his neighborhood. He cycled 13 kilometers daily from his home in Kharar, near Chandigarh, to practice at Guuru Nanak Public School. His dedication paid off when he joined Jaswant Rai’s cricket academy in Chandigarh in 2015.
Domestic Career
In junior cricket, Arshdeep played in the Katoch Shield tournament. His breakthrough came when he was part of the Indian U-19 team that clinched victory in the 2018 ICC U-19 World Cup. His impressive performances led to opportunities at the senior level.
Arshdeep made his List A debut for Punjab in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. His left-arm pace and accuracy caught the eye, and he continued to shine in the CK Nayudu Trophy, taking eight wickets, including a hat-trick, against Rajasthan under-23s.
Arshdeep made his international debut in July 2022 in a Twenty20 International (T20I) against England. Interestingly, he got a maiden over on debut which has been done by only three Indian bowlers. His yorkers and deliveries that were more than 140 km/h bowled over the selectors and fans.

T20 World Cup Triumph
Arshdeep was a part of the Indian team that emerged as the T20 World Champions in 2024. Thus, he showed how he can perform in critical moments, being the most successful bowler of the tournament. His left-arm variations were always a big headache for the batsmen, and his performance was one of the key reasons for the Indian team’s success.
Now Arshdeep is part of the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he has been able to hone his talent with other players.
